Clarks Grove Demolition Landfill has applied for a solid waste facility permit modification for its facility located at 75351 255th St, Clarks Grove. The facility is designed to dispose of up to 285,122 cubic yards of construction and demolition debris. The draft solid waste permit incorporates a change in ownership and operator, as well as 4:1 final cover slopes.
The facility has applied for a variance from Minn. R. 7035.2825, subp. 3(E) for final contour slopes greater than 20 percent. A variance is granted when meeting the standard is not feasible. The facility has satisfied the necessary conditions, and this draft permit does incorporate granting the variance.
All active landfills, transfer stations, composting, and recycling facilities in Minnesota are required to have a solid waste permit. A solid waste permit is issued for a period of ten years. If conditions change and modifications to the permit are necessary, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
